How to Write a Great eBay Description

The best way to write a good description is to be as thorough as possible. Be sure that you include all of the bad and good things about the item you are selling.

If you are selling clothing include, the brand, size, colors, what it’s made of, and anything else you think is important. Try using adjectives to describe your items. The better they can envision the item the easier it will be to sell. Do your research and see how other sellers are describing the item. You might come up with some great tips, but be sure not to plagiarize their listings. You can also check out the manufacturers website to see how they describe their items.

If the item has a flaw, chip, or any other problem, be sure to put it in your description and try to show it in a photo, BE AS HONEST AS POSSIBLE. Treat your buyers how you would like to be treated. If your not honest they will surely find the problem and either want to send it back or leave you negative feedback. It’s just not worth it. Remember the better your feedback is on eBay, the better it is for you as a seller.

You might want to use a template or a listing site. There are tons to choose from. The great thing about these sites are that you can usually save a template or several templates.

In general, do you best to be as descriptive as possible and honest as possible. In the end it will serve you well.
